The Sunny Day Club is not only a 3-hour respite for the caregivers of loved ones living with dementia but also 3 hours of socialization for the person living with dementia. The program is all volunteer-run; it is as rewarding for the volunteers as the folks we are serving. You can set your time around your life, volunteer weekly or quarterly, and we can make it work! Harpeth Hills also hosts a support group for caregivers that care for individuals with Alzheimer’s. This group usually meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 11-12 in Room 205.
Contact support group facilitators Larry Dodson (615.429.2348) or Robyn Arab (615.294.1642) for more information.
For many individuals with Alzheimer’s and their care partners, support groups provide significant comfort and practical help in coping with the disease. Alzheimer’s Tennessee trains facilitators at partner locations and coordinates area meetings that serve as important sources of information as well as outlets for feelings and frustrations. If you are a caregiver, please consider joining this group.
