Fused Faith
Fused Sermon Series
Jason Pagel, preaching
Those around us are noticing what we are also sensing. Sometimes there is a disconnect between what we say we believe and how we actually live. James writes that “faith by itself if it is not accompanied by action is dead.” An image that comes to mind is that of a blown fuse. Something is not working. There is a disconnect so that the energy of our faith does not power the action of our lives. It’s one thing to say what we believe. It is another to DO what we believe.
A fuse “blows” when the capacity is exceeded. Perhaps one of the major causes for the disconnect in our day is that we have lost sight of our own capacity. We don’t know or admit our limits. And when we exceed our own capacity the fuse of our faith gets blown.
