John Chapter 4-5
Jason Pagel, preaching
“Unless you people see signs and wonders,“ Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
John 4:4
Jesus told the Samaritan woman everything she had ever done. He healed the official’s son. He made a man walk who had been lame for thirty-eight years. These are some of what John would consider to be clear and unmistakable signs that Jesus is Savior. But perhaps the act that gives Jesus the most credibility is that he does not use those signs to point to himself. “Very truly I tell you the Son can do nothing be himself.” Rather than “Hey look at me!”, Jesus takes the signs and points them directly at His Father. Would we expect Him to do anything else? Does He expect us to do anything less?
