Day 16 / Luke 13:10-17
By Rachel and Josh Oakley
Jesus “saw her”.
We have no indication that she came to the synagogue begging for healing. The scripture makes no mention of her being bold enough to fight through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment like the woman in chapter 8. Nevertheless, Jesus “saw her”. He saw a woman that was broken, longing to be healed. He saw a woman whose dignity had been stripped away and replaced with shame. He saw a woman that needed Him, because He is the one who rebuilds the broken and restores dignity from shame.
Today, as you read Jesus’ teaching, He sees you as well. What’s broken that needs to be restored? Are you burdened by shame, sorrow or sadness? Whatever it is, He sees you and is calling out to you. Don’t be afraid. He is the one who rebuilds the broken and restores dignity from shame.
Don’t be mistaken, there will be people that are upset by your transformation. They are fools, humiliated by the truth. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and surround yourself with people who are delighted by Him. Come quickly Lord.
