Update from Nick Dorroll in Banner Elk, NC:

Just wrapped up my last hard day of this week before departing tomorrow around 1. I have a lot of cleaning up around here and staging our stuff.

1) I bought 2 big nice grills today for the fire department. To be used by our staff until a full handover is done. Though they are being stored behind their building.

2 ) Today was shift change and the guys were getting 2 days off. So, to boost morale, I cooked a massive meal. Good steak, chicken and hamburgers, then some potato salad, mashed potatoes, huge tray of fresh fruit salad, green beans, fresh bread, and cookies, and real cokes and tea. It was a huge success. Music played and the heads of Town Hall, 1st responders, and the Eggers Construction all attended. They have been working so hard to get the streets back open. They left with smiles on their faces and full bellies. Nothing went to waste. It was a great night. So many people thanked our church for helping in a time of need. So many heart shaped hands and blessing hands were shown or given to us for our work. It was real special.
