Discussion Guide for May 7, 2023
The Story
We will focus on Acts 4:32-5:10, the story of the Christians sharing their
possessions with those in need and a couple that decided to hold back their
profits. Please read the passage and be familiar enough with the details that
you are able to tell the story without reading it.

Use the discussion questions to dig into the story and be introspective.
Prayers of God’s People
Prayer time focuses on our city.
Pray for continued healing of trauma and grief over the shooting at Covenant.
Pray for our city leaders to be just and wise.
Pray for our schools and teachers that they will guide, teach, and lead our students well.
Pray for more support for our teachers.
Pray for communities to find healing and reconciliation with their neighbors.
Pray for our neighbors who are lonely, stressed, and burned out. May the Lord bring rest
and friendships.
Pray for those who struggle with anxiety, depression, and mental illness. May the Lord
bring healing and peace.
Pray that our neighbors will turn their eyes to Jesus. May we be representatives of hope.
Pray that we will have the courage to invite our neighbors into our community with God
and to follow Jesus with us. May we be faithful to speak and to practice the good news of
Jesus.
